Install the SDK

Open a terminal in the unzipped qc_sdk_beta1 folder, the one that contains the .whl file.

# 1. Create a private Python environment for the SDK (one time)
python -m venv qc-env

# 2. Switch it on (do this every time you open a new terminal)
.\qc-env\Scripts\Activate.ps1

# 3. Install the SDK
pip install .\centific-0.1.0b1-py3-none-any.whl

# 4. Check it worked
python -c "import centific; print(centific.__version__)"
# 1. Create a private Python environment for the SDK (one time)
python3 -m venv qc-env

# 2. Switch it on (do this every time you open a new terminal)
source qc-env/bin/activate

# 3. Install the SDK
pip install ./centific-0.1.0b1-py3-none-any.whl

# 4. Check it worked
python -c "import centific; print(centific.__version__)"

Expected output:

0.1.0b1

That's it. The SDK is installed.

Windows says “running scripts is disabled on this system”

PowerShell blocks the activation script by default. Run this once, then try step 2 again:

Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope CurrentUser RemoteSigned
You installed an earlier copy of the beta

Earlier copies don't have upload() and grade(). Install over the old copy:

pip install --force-reinstall .\centific-0.1.0b1-py3-none-any.whl

Optional: confirm the files are genuine

# Compare the printed hashes with the lines in SHA256SUMS
Get-FileHash .\centific-0.1.0b1-py3-none-any.whl, .\centific-qc-0.1.0-beta.1.tgz, .\qc.sh -Algorithm SHA256
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS # on macOS: shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS

Each file should print OK.
